The Multimedia Graphics and GIS Lab (MMLAB) participated in the 3rd Patras Innovation Quest (Patras IQ) which took place between 15 and April 17, 2016 at the Sports Center "Dimitris Tofalos" in the city of Patras. In the context of promoting know-how and innovative ideas, the MMLAB presented the following projects:
- Border Guards: Products Geomatics for Border View & Decision Support, which is under the Action "Cooperation 2011", ESPA 2007-2013, as partner.
- DOC-CULTURE: Integrated Valuation and Documentation Environment of Conservation Interventions Cultural Works with Non Destructive Methods, under the THALES Act, as partner.
- GR - Diagenes: The genetic architecture of type 2 diabetes mellitus: Predisposition, treatment and prediction of complications, under the THALES Act, as parther.

Title: Tablet and personal computer application for electronic patient tab and recording of blood pressure in Windows 8.1 environment
Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is to design and develop an integrated system for tablets and personal computers which is aimed to patients with a problem of arterial hypertension with the purpose of electronically recording the progress of the treatment. The system is split into two applications. The mobile application of the patient which is aimed for use in tablets and it is called BloodPressureTracker and also the desktop application of doctors. The patient can easily record the data of his blood pressure, adding if desired an accompanying photograph, and has lists of his own doctors and pharmaceutical treatments. The doctor from his part has the ability to view the measurements of his patients and to update the pharmaceutical treatments.

Title: Development of entertainment guide application for mobile device Windows Phone for the city of Patras using Bing Maps
Abstract: In this Diploma Thesis, an application for portable devices has been developed. The application offers the capability to navigate on a map in order to find points of interest in the city of Patras. The operating system used is the Windows phone, as this application was developed for mobile devices. The information system consists of the application, the database that stores all information and a set of web services. Web services have been used to transfer the data from the database to the application. The information system have been implemented in Visual studio and Microsoft SQL Server. The project concludes with some thoughts regarding possible further extensions of this work.

Title: Development of a comprehensive and user-friendly environment for spectral analysis, whilst facilitating development and validation of algorithms for material science using vibrational spectroscopy.
Abstract: The goal of this project is to provide a comprehensive and user-friendly environment for spectral analysis, integrating functionalities for treatment of experimental vibrational spectroscopy data.This project took place in three stages. First stage was the setting of the specific targets of the project. Then, the source code was written in Matlab. Lastly, the application was tested in experimental conditions, in cooperation with the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry and Molecular Spectroscopy of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Patras.
